Reflections: Inspired by the Wet Season
- Las nubes negras roaming all week long to soak and cleanse the city with it's pouring rain, with a promise that el sol will shine again with all its glory touching everyone with the warmth of its rays
- Even though I was born in the summer with it's imposing heat, I've always preferred winter with it's suggestive warmth
- One of the best smells to look forward to in the rain: fresh rain-wet grass
- Thunder and lightning to me are never a premonition; they are like old friends that always make me feel right at home
- If it is drizzling, the best thing to do is to take a walk in a puddle-free road/path
- If it is pouring, cuddle up in a warm place, open the curtains, make a steaming cup of cocoa and watch the wet streets and the swooshing going outside of your little warm world
- The memory of the best rain day I have ever witnessed, is that when I was standing under the protective roof of our school bus garage, and I couldn't make out the volley ball court that was only 20 meters away

Morning Exercise Companions
This is a tribute to my morning exercise companions. I am not making fun of them, but naturally in order for me to identify them I have to give my superficial impressions on these people, since I don't actually know them or exchanges so much as a couple of words with any of them. I actually salute and respect them for being so true to their exercise routine through hot steamy weather, pouring rain, and fasting month of Ramadan. Please meet my morning companions:
- Ziko- He looks so much like Zakaria Azmi and hence the nickname
- I'm 65 but I'm definitely more fit than you are- If we are taking laps on the same direction, he sure will be ahead of me even if I originally started before him.
- Daddy Long Legs- He's so tall with really long legs, the DLL story jumps straight to mind
- Wide shoulders- He's actually cute, but you can pinpoint him from afar with his very distinctive wide shoulders
- "My mommy is 50 meters behind me" girl- Whether she walks by herself or with a friend, her mom is always 50-100 meters behind her with her umbrella to protect her from the sun/rain
- Mr. and Mrs. "take a picture it will last longer"- A couple of elderly people who keep staring so hard that it just becomes too awkward
- Mr. mid-life crisis- He seems to be in his 50s but he dresses so upbeat and rides a red 307 CC with the top down
- Track and field dude- He takes a couple of laps jogging and then finalizes his exercise at the track and field area
I wonder what kind of superficial nickname each of these people has given me (c:
